Roman Peshkov

Roman graduated from Novosibirsk State University in Russia in 2013 and earned his Ph.D. from the Novosibirsk Institute of Organic Chemistry in 2016. His thesis and early research focused on nucleophilic aromatic substitution, particularly the reactivity of anionic reduced forms (radical anions and dianions) of aromatic nitriles in metal free biaryl cross-coupling. He then spent two years conducting computational studies on spiroconjugated molecules. In 2022, he moved to Sweden and joined Prof. Sascha Ott’s group at Uppsala University, working on the chemistry of low-valent phosphorus compounds. Finally, in 2024, he joined the Crespi group as a postdoc, and he is currently involved in both the synthesis and computational studies of molecular photoswitches.
